Tej Pratap Yadav, the son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad and head of the Jan Shakti Party, has been implicated in a violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) while filing his nomination from the Mahua assembly seat in Bihar's Vaishali district. This information was confirmed by local police on Sunday. According to a statement from the district police, a complaint was lodged by the circle officer of Mahua at the relevant police station.
A video that circulated on social media showed Yadav using an SUV adorned with police logos and red lights during a procession on October 16, when he submitted his nomination papers. The news agency reported this incident.
The complaint stated, 'A thorough investigation was conducted, revealing that the police logo and blue-red lights on the vehicle were unauthorized. Hence, a case of violating the election code of conduct has been registered.'
Tej Pratap established his party on May 25 after being expelled from RJD for six years, following his admission of being in a relationship with a woman. However, he later deleted a Facebook post claiming that his account had been hacked. Lalu Prasad also severed ties with Tej Pratap due to his 'irresponsible behavior.'
Shortly after his expulsion from RJD, Tej Pratap accused others of plotting to create a rift between him and his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav. He expressed his feelings in several posts on his social media account, attributing the crisis to 'Jai Chand,' a metaphor for traitors.
